SANGOLDA: Premanand Kochrekar made way for Avinash Naik, who was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of Sangolda panchayat on Friday.
Premanand resigned from his post in the seven-member panchayat body as the post had to be shared on rotation.
Since only one nomination form was received for the post of sarpanch, Avinash was declared elected unopposed. All the other six members pledged their support to Avinash.
Speaking to reporters after the elections on Friday, Avinash thanked the panchas for bestowing trust in his abilities to carry on the developmental works in the village.
“All the members have pledged me their support and declared me elected unopposed as sarpanch, so I am thankful to the members,” said Avinash.
