Awareness drive against single-use plastic held in Mapusa

MAPUSA: A cycle rally was organised under the Swachh Bharat Mission- Urban in Mapusa town to create awareness against the usage of single-use plastic, on Monday. 
The rally was flagged off by Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza in the presence of Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Ryan Braganza and other councillors at Mapusa Municipal Council, wherein more than 25 cyclists participated that was organised by Mineral Foundation of Goa and supported by Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA).
The group of cyclist went around the town to create awareness among the general public on the ban of single-use plastic. This attempt was a move to mobilise people at the ground level for shunning the use of single-use plastic items. 
The aim behind this cycle rally was to involve as many people as possible in the campaign so that the massage could reach the masses about the harmful effects of single-use plastic items.
Addressing the gathering, Mapusa MLA D’Souza pointed out that during the last council meeting two weeks ago they had taken a resolution to ban single-use plastic.
