PANJIM: Union Minister Shripad Naik was received with a hero’s welcome on Sunday on his maiden arrival after being appointed in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shripad popularly known in the state as ‘bhau’ was received by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, BJP state general secretary Sadanand Tanavade and other party leaders alongwith workers at the BJP Office in Panjim after a rally where he travelled in an open jeep from Military Camp in Bambolim to the capital.
Shripad has been appointed as Union Minister of State for Defence and Union Minister.
