QUEPEM: Opposition leader and Quepem MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar succeeded in getting five panchayats under him while one panchayat went to BJP; and in another an independent panel formed the panchayat with the support of Kavlekar.
In Naqueri Betul, Delfi Barbosa has been unanimously elected as sarpanch while Rateena Carvalho is his deputy.
In Colla, Purna Nayak got the opportunity to occupy sarpanch seat while Guru Velip got elected as dy sarpanch.
Avedem will be led by Roque Alphanso while Punky Fernandes got elected as dy sarpanch.
Arjun sonu Velip is the new sarpanch of Barcem while Sharda Velip was elected as dy sarpanch.
In Morpilla, Prakash Kuiro Velip was elected as sarpanch, Manish Velip will be his deputy. All these five panchayats — Betul, Morpila, Barcem, Aveden and Colla — Kavlekar supported sarpanch and deputy got elected unanimously
While in Fatorpa, BJP supported Medini Naik got elected as sarpanch former Sarpanch Sanzel D’Costa will be her deputy.
In Balli Adnem, Rajesh Fal Dessai got elected as sarpanch and Bandana Gaonkar got elected as dy sarpanch. This panchayat falls in two constituencies Cuncolim and Quepem. Both Kavlekar Supported Panchas and Cleafasio Dias supporters come together to form panel.

MLA’s brother elected
as Sanvordem sarpanch
CURCHOREM: Sandeep Pauskar, the brother of Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pauskar, was unanimously elected as the sarpanch of Sanvordem and Sumitra Naik as his deputy, on Monday. After the election MLA Pauskar congratulated the newly elected members and asked them to remain united and extend their support and cooperation to him for fulfilling the promises and assurances given in his election manifesto.
He said that the question of truck owners and the dependents on mining activities will be taken up on priority basis. “Efforts will be made to increase rates of mining trucks, the contract system on jetties will be abolished and the workers will be regularized,” Pauskar said and assured to construct the mining bypass road from Guddemol to Kapxem under GSIDC.
According to Pauskar all the seven panchayats in his constituency including Dabhal, Dharbandora, Collem, Kalay, Mollem and Sacorda extended their support to him.
