PANJIM: The minor girl, who had complained of rape against St Cruz MLA Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate, has been admitted to Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB) from State-run protection home, a senior official from Apna Ghar has stated.
The 16-year-old girl who has been lodged in the protection home after she filed the case against Monserrate was referred to IPHB after the management of the home complained about her ‘abnormal behaviour,’ a officer from Apna Ghar informed Herald.
Monserrate was arrested on May 6 after the girl complained that she was purchased by him for Rs 50 lakh and was raped thereafter.
“We are monitoring her behaviour. The details cannot be disclosed about the case as it amounts to breach of privacy of the patient,” a member from Child Welfare Committee (CWC) stated while refusing to divulge any further details.
The girl was admitted last evening and has been kept under tight police protection as Monserrate is already out on the bail.
Crime Branch had arrested the mother of the victim and another woman for human trafficking. All are out on the bail currently.
