MARGAO: Benaulim residents are upset over the terrible conditions of the road near Dando ground and the slow pace of works.
While the roads have been dug up for laying a pipeline to improve water supply, the reckless way in which the road has been dug has affected water supply to the houses in the vicinity.
People residing along the Colva-Benaulim road that are affected by the ongoing works have also have had to deal with constant power fluctuations and worse poor access to their residences.
Still worse, the absence of indicators from the Colva entry point is causing traffic chaos in the village. There are barricades between Benaulim and Colva entry point.
“The road is closed but no signs are put up…it’s only when one goes closer one realises that the JCB and digging have left no space even for two-wheelers to turn and that creates traffic jams,” said Cedric Da Costa.
The local residents have criticised the authorities for poor planning and coordination between departments concerned for the bad roads.
The alternate route via the Sernabatim road is also narrow and creates bottle necks when large vehicles ply on the same.
