VASCO: Burglars made good of the heavy rains and bad weather by breaking into an office near Desterro Church, Vasco, and decamping with vehicle batteries and cash, all worth Rs 1.5 lakh.
According to Mormugao Police, burglars broke open the shutter of Sagar Batteries near Desterro Church taking advantage of heavy rains on Tuesday night and stole cash of Rs 25,000 and motor batteries worth Rs 1.25 lakh.
Shop owner, Tulsidaran Pillai, said he noticed the shutter locks broken when he went to open the shop on Wednesday morning.
