VASCO: Several areas of Baina were plunged into darkness on Thursday after fire set by some miscreants damaged the main underground electricity cables which were kept exposed in the open.

Tense moments were witnessed after affected residents from Traiwada gathered at the site in large numbers even as theelectricity department staff started work of restoring the power supply on war footing. Till night, power supply was restored to Bogda areas.
The agitated residents questioned the Electricity Department for keeping the live underground cables lying in the open and also demanded to know how completion certificate was issued to the contractor, who kept the underground cables exposed.
