PANJIM: The United Balrath Employees Union (UBEA) on Friday warned the government and demanded that the assurances of the Education Department and government be finalised before the election code of conduct comes into force.
Addressing the media, social activist Swati Kerkar said that the balrath employees had gone on strike over the issue of job security, salary hike, insurance and other benefits, but deferred the same on the assurance give by the Education Department and the Goa Headmasters Association. “We have found out that Education Department has cleared the file and it is now before the Finance Department and held up there.”
The government had promised to solve our issues and we demand that it should be done before the code of conduct comes into force,” Kerkar said threatening to agitate if the work is not done.
