PANJIM: TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said that he fails to understand what the people of Bambolim want and that they have been misguided.
“The people had not come prepared for the two and half hour meeting. They wanted 1993 ODP that covered entire villages, which have now been kept out. So I feel they seem to be misguided,” Sardesai told the media.
The minister said he was ready to consider all their demands except for the road on Bambolim plateau. “There is no vested interest there as most of the road belongs to the government like the Defence, the GMC and Cujira School Complex,” he said adding, “The basic principle is that plateaus are supposed to take high rise. Vertical development has to happen it is a universal principle.”
He said that it is another matter that nothing can be done at this plateau as the plateau is already occupied and government owned. “For the entire 2 and half hour meeting they had nothing concrete to discuss and had come with just pre-conceived notions,” he said.
Sardesai also flayed the statements that the villages which have been kept out of GPPDA will also join protest.
“Now I heard that even villages which have been excluded will agitate. I don’t understand what it is all about. I dropped all the villages. Does it make sense?”
