MARGAO: After hearing the concerns of the taxi operators from airport, South Goa District Collector Anjali Sehrawat has advised them to approach appellate court if they found discrepancy in the issuance of licence to contractor of rent a cab counter at the Dabolim Airport.
The District Collector South Goa hosted a meeting with the taximen along with AAI, RTO, Police and rent a cab service contractor.
SP Arvind Gawas, Goa Airport Director B C Negi, RTO Enforcement Assistant Director of Transport Pralhad Dessai and the representatives of the contractor were present.
The airport taxi operators who protested at the Airport earlier this week accused the RTA and RTO of adopting “false” methods and “wrongdoings” in issuing licences to the contractor of the rent a cab counter by Taj India Cruise.
“Under which provision in the M V Act have you issued the licence to a contractor?” asked taximen.
To this, the AAI Goa Airport Director B C Negi said they have followed all the procedures to issue the licence.
the contractor complained to the Collector of having been called “outsider” by the taximen and maintained that its service is for the betterment of the tourists.
Meanwhile, the Collector later advised the protesting taximen to approach the court if they find discrepancy in the issuance of licence.
