CANACONA: With rains in full flow, the seasonal ‘Bamonbudo’ waterfall at Gaondongrim-Canacona is in its full glory, inviting hordes of picnickers from around and even outside the State.
On Sunday afternoon, visitors were seen scurrying with each other to park their vehicles and then find a suitable space to place one self under the waterfall. A queue of vehicles was seen parked on the narrow road across the waterfall located in Tudal area of Gaondongrim.
The waterfall can be reached on two sides, people can either travel from Sanguem via Neturlim (around 12 kms from Neturlim) and the usual Canacona-Bhatpal-Gaondongrim road, which is however mostly busy during the weekend with many motorists making a beeline to reach the Bamonbudo waterfall.
Canacona police informed that due to various incidents arising out of drinking and lack of availability of parking space for vehicles, policemen have been placed to guard the area to avoid the incidents.
On Sunday afternoon, several groups were seen drinking beer and consuming alcohol not only on road, but even down under the waterfall.
Incidentally, while the drinking and merry of youngsters was going on unabated, no policemen could be seen anywhere near the waterfall on Sunday afternoon.
