MARGAO: Green Goa Foundation has alleged that the order of the South Goa Collector prohibiting heavy vehicles from using certain roads in Chandor was not being enforced by the police, due to which several accidents and traffic jams were taking place. GGF has demanded that the order be enforced within seven days, failing which it has threatened to file a writ petition against the authorities for their failures.
GGF stated that it had filed a complaint that the roads from Ramnagari to Guirdolim, Gudi junction to Chandor, Sanvordem-Assolda junction to Chandor and Tilamol junction to Chandor were not meant for heavy vehicles, and on September 11, 2008, the Collector had issued an order prohibiting their movement on their roads.
