PONDA: The Bhoma Adkon Panchayat has awarded the Banasatarim market “sopo” collection contract to Vishant Bhomkar at Rs 3.95 lakh for six month upto March 2021. Similarly, garbage disposal contract was given to Jahesh Tivrekar at Rs 1.95 lakh.
Sarpanch Sunil Bhomkar said since lockdown “sopo” was not collected. However, now the panchayat has decided to collect “sopo” tax and so auction was conducted. Similarly, garbage disposal auction was also conducted.
The garbage contractor has to segregate dry waste as per the directions of the Goa State Pollution Control Board and dispose wet waste on his own.
