PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Tuesday asked Shripad alias Paresh Sinai Sawardekar, the car driver allazegedly involved in the horrific Banastarim bridge accident case to approach the trial court for seeking permission to leave the State.
As per the conditions of his bail, he is not allowed to leave the State without the permission of the trial court. In view of this, he filed a criminal miscellaneous application before the High Court seeking permission to leave the State.
“The applicant is permitted to withdraw the present application and to approach the Trial Court for permission to leave the State. If such an application is filed, the Trial Court shall consider it on its own merit and decide it as early as possible,” stated the order by Justice B P Deshpande.
On August 6 last year, three lives were snuffed out in a horrific accident reported on approach road of the Banastarim braidge when a speeding Mercedes car rammed into oncoming traffic. The vehicle proceeding towards Panjim mowed down two two-wheelers and collided against three cars proceeding towards Ponda.
