BANASTARIM ACCIDENT: HC grants bail to Paresh Sawardekar

In a significant legal development, the High Court has
issued crucial rulings in two prominent cases.

Meghana Sawardekar’s Challenge:Meghana Sawardekar, who
challenged the summons from Mardol police, now faces a Court-mandated
requirement. She must deposit a substantial sum of Rs 2 crore with the Court,
designated for potential compensation to those affected by the case. Meghana
and her son underwent extensive questioning before the Ponda Magistrate, while
her two remaining children are scheduled for testimony on Wednesday.

Paresh Sawardekar’s Bail Hearing: The High Court has
rescheduled the bail hearing for Paresh Sinai Sawardekar to August 24. Paresh,
accused of reckless driving under the influence, resulting in a tragic accident
claiming three lives on August 6, was granted bail by the Court. The conditions
include surrendering his passport, staying within the state, and regular visits
to the police station.The aftermath of the accident case prompted its transfer
from Mardol police station to the specialized Crime Branch in Ribandar. Leading
the investigation team are DySP Suraj Halarnkar and PI Narayan Chimulkar,
specifically assembled for this purpose.

Paresh Sawardekar Granted Bail in Banastari Accident Case:
On Thursday, the High Court granted bail to Paresh Sawardekar, the accused in
the Banastari accident case, following the Crime Branch’s declaration that his
custody is unnecessary. The Court has also directed Paresh to surrender his
passport to the investigation agency and remain within the state, marking a
significant development in this high-profile case.
