Bandora residents want ongoing development works expedited

Complain they are compelled to undergo hardship due to works such as sewerage network and underground power cabling which are progressing at a snail’s pace

PONDA: Claiming that they have been suffering due to long pending developmental works, Bandora locals on Thursday said that the roads have not been hotmixed for several years and demanded that the ongoing development works be expedited.

Locals also complained that they are compelled to undergo tremendous hardship due to pending works such as sewerage network and underground power cabling which are progressing at a snail’s pace.

They claimed that due to the pending sewerage network, the roads are not hotmixed for several   years and recently the roads are dug for laying underground power cables.  Thus roads have turned non-motorable and commuters have been suffering from health issues while commuting along these routes.

Further they complained of dust pollution on account of the temporary repair work carried out on the pothole-ridden roads and due to digging of trenches.

Alleging that there is no supervision while carrying out underground cabling work, they said Nagueshi road is dug and an electricity pole has been erected on the stretch which poses danger to motorists. They said at present a jetpatcher machine has been pressed into service to repair the potholes.

The locals further alleged that cables have been passed through gutters in cross drains which block the flow of water during monsoon.
