MARGAO: Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bandora walked away with the first prize in the Chitrarath category at the Shigmo float parade organised in Margao while Suyog Shigmotsav Mandal, Adpai won the first prize in the Romtamell category and Saraswati Kala Mandal, Curti bagged the first prize in the folk dance category.
Chitrarath category: Triveni Kalasang, Durbhat and Shree Bhagwati Kala Sangh, Dhavli bagged the second and third prize. Consolation prizes: Shree Mahalaxmi Creation, Cacoda; Sateri Boys, Merces; Betal Kala Mandal, Adpai; Rajyoga Education Research Foundation and Daad Sakodkar Prassum, Borim.
Honorarium: Mudvel Shigmotsav Samiti, CAC Boys Loutolim, Gajanan Kalamandal Kapleshwari, Ponda; Bhagavati Kala Mandal, Durbhat; Om Sai Kala Mandal, Jolly Boys Ponda and Shree Vithoba Maruti Bal Mandal Dhonsi.
Romtamell: Second and third prize were bagged by Paikdev Shigmotsav Samiti, Sanguem and Borim Shigmotsav Samiti. Curchorem Kakoda Shigmotsav Samiti won the fourth prize while fifth prize was won by Sanvordem Shigmotsav Mandal.
Consolation prizes: Khandepar Shigmotsav Samiti, Mandaleshwar Mandguru Shigmotsav Vazem and Dongrim Shigmotsav Mandal.
Folk dance category: Savoiverem Sahakari won the second prize while Navdurga Kala Sanskriti won the third prize and Shri Guru Kala Mandal Priol was awarded an honorarium.
Fancy dress: Rohit Naik as “Agori Baba” won the first prize in the seniors category while Siddesh Marathe as “Ravan” won the second prize and the third prize was awarded to Abhinav Marathe who was dressed as “Rakhandev”.
Junior category, Kannya Naik as “Mahisasur” won the first prize while Anushka Moraskar as “Panchmukhi Laxmi” won the second prize and the third prize was awarded to Omkar Lolienkar as “Bhim”.
