Bandora wet garbage treatment plant set on fire

PONDA: Unknown persons set on fire the Bandora wet garbage plant on March 12 around noon, causing a loss estimated to be Rs two lakh.

Bandora Sarpanch Rajesh Naik filed a complaint in this fire incident with the Ponda Police Station on Monday.

Naik said he had called the Ponda Fire Services who doused the fire after an hour it was set on fire by the miscreants on Saturday. He said that the fire had also damaged a compound wall and a shed.

Whilst inspecting the CCTV footage, Naik said that it was found that some unknown persons had arrived at the plant on a bike.

Naik said the CCTV would be handed over to the police for investigation.

“Strict action will be taken against the accused whose intention was to set the plant of fire,” said the Bandora sarpanch.
