VASCO: A tourist from Bangalore drowned off Bogmalo beach on the New Year night.
Ravi Kumar, aged 29, and an IIT engineer had come to Goa on Sunday with five of his friends and was staying at Bogmalo beach resort.
In the afternoon, Ravi and his five friends went for a swim at the Bogmalo beach. While swimming one of the friends noticed a person floating nearby and later realised that it was his friend Ravi who was floating lifeless in the water. Ravi was taken to a private hospital and was declared brought dead there.
The family of Ravi arrived in Goa on Tuesday and took custody of his body after autopsy. According to the family Ravi had medical issues and he had fainted on number of occasions, earlier.
