CURCHOREM: The branch manager of the Central Bank of India, Curchorem, Ananda Ganpat Jadhav, a resident of Pontemol, Curchorem, and a native of Satara, Maharashtra, has been granted conditional bail by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, South Goa.

The court ordered Jadhav’s release on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 50,000 with one local surety of the same amount.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Rosalina Correia Anthony Dias, a resident of Curchorem, against another accused, Tanvi Vast, who allegedly committed fraud while working as a representative of Vision India at the Central Bank of India, Curchorem branch.
According to the complaint, on July 2, 2024, Vast reportedly gained Dias’s trust when the latter approached the bank to deposit her gold ornaments. Vast allegedly swapped the ornaments with similar-looking fake items and transferred Rs 5,50,000 from the complainant’s account into her own through mobile banking without consent.
The stolen jewellery, which includes a necklace, two chains, five bangles, two bracelets, two rings, and a pair of earrings, is valued at approximately Rs 25 lakh. The alleged fraud came to light on November 18, 2024.
Curchorem police stated that Jadhav, the bank manager, was arrested for his role in the case and lodged in judicial custody. Police added that Jadhav remains in custody in connection with another ongoing investigation.
