MAPUSA: Bardez Dy Collector Gurudas Desai on Friday held a meeting with stakeholders in tourism in Anjuna and Calangute and directed them to furnish permissions granted to operate businesses.

The meeting was a follow up after the authorities learnt that the infamous Curlies shack was operating illegally.

However, since the letter issued to the Anjuna and Calangute police had mentioned about sound pollution, the noise pollution committee members appointed by the High Court and few villagers from Anjuna and Calangute also attended the meeting and highlighted how the loud music played during the night parties were haunting them.

Villagers and committee members alleged that the Dy Collector had fooled the people and finished the meeting within five minutes.

Ranjana Saudagar committee member of Calangute Noise Pollution Committee said,” People are fooled since noise pollution rules and regulations were not discussed. The meeting was just eye wash.”
