MAPUSA: The Public Works Department has said that the six-lane Bastora Flyover project, which was scheduled to complete in May 2017, will be ready by June end.
PWD informed that the project was delayed by 13 months due to technical issues. The two major hurdles which caused the 10-month delay were the shifting of cable feeding power to Porvorim and Calangute and shifting of Moira-Bastora water pipeline.
AE Edwin Pereira said, “PWD had to keep the passage open for transportation of the girders for the new Mandovi Bridge. These girders were being transported from Pernem to Panjim, which delayed the work. Almost all works have been completed and the project will be ready by June 30”.
