MARGAO: The Basuraj murder case has been posted to October 31 for an order on the application filed by an accused seeking to become an approver in the case.
According to the prosecution, Kalpana Barki allegedly murdered her husband Basuraj with the help of four men, dismembered his body, stuffed the pieces into a gunny bag and disposed them at various places.
After the indictment was filed, accused No 2 Suresh Solanki filed an application seeking pardon and become an approver. The prosecution has given its no objection to the application. However, the other accused have objected to the application claiming that Suresh was the main culprit and hence should not be made an approver.
When the case came up before Additional Sessions Judge Sayonara Telles Laad, on Friday, Public Prosecutor V Costa clarified some issues. Thereafter, the case was posted to October 31, for an order on the application seeking pardon.
