PANJIM: Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) convenor and Prabhodan Education Society secretary Subhash Velingkar on Friday gave the Director of Education till April 20 to clear salaries of newly recruited teachers or prepare to face public wrath.
Velingkar went on to say that their education society will approach Goa Human Rights Commission claiming mental torture by DoE.
Addressing the media, Velingkar said, “The school had recruited nine teachers who started teaching since July and till today they are being mentally tortured by the department and their denied salaries,” Velingkar said.
He added, “This is political vendetta. We had observed all formalities of the government and DoE, including presence of ADEI during interview after which it was sent for approval which is now pending.”
He added, “According to Rule 76 of the Act, if the Director does not approve the file it is to be deemed approved. I wrote to the Director to release the salaries which are pending for the last eight months but he said to speak to the Chief Minister or Sitaram Naik. It is complete political interference when the Director is not acting in spite of having powers.”
He further said that the educational process of the school is being targeted because he had gone against the government in the Medium of Instruction (MoI) issue.
