B’day boy Sopte files nomination

CM promises to take up development works, create employment for Mandrem locals

Pernem: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidateDayanand Sopte on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Mandrem by-poll election before in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, BJP leaders including Sadanand Shet Tanavade among other party members.
Incidentally, Sopte filed his nomination before the returning officer in Pernem on his birthday. After this, CM appealed to the public to vote for Sopte just as they had in the 2017 Assembly election. He further promised to take up development works of Mandrem on priority basis and work towards creating employment for the locals.  “Let’s take forward our PM Narendra Modi’s motto of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas and vote for Sopte that will help BJP be victorious with majority,” said Sawant. 
It maybe recalled Sopte, the former Congress MLA who had defeated the former BJP CM and MLA Laximkant Parsekar had resigned from the Congress and joined BJP..
