MARGAO: Additional Civil Judge Senior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Margao, Carlo da Silva on Monday discharged former Tourism Minister Francisco Xavier (Mickky)Pacheco, Robin Fernandes and Sebastiao Vaz in the beach driving case.
Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira and Adv Byron Rodrigues appeared for the accused while the State was represented by the assistant public prosecutor.
It may be recalled that Fanny D’Silva from Utorda had filed a complaint against Pacheco accusing him of driving his SUV on the beach at Consua and for damaging water sports accessories. The police had registered a non-cognisable case against Pacheco under Sections 427 and 504 of the IPC.
After the police completed the investigation and registered an offence, Pacheco moved the anticipatory bail application.
Later the court granted him anticipatory bail on condition that he be released on furnishing a bond of Rs 20,000 with one surety in like amount and directed him not to enter Utorda for 60 days and Betalbatim for 15 days and to report to the police station for five days as and when required.
