MAPUSA: Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar on Friday informed that the water Resources Department and Goa Tourism Development Corporation have undertaken the beautification works of Salmona Spring and Mae De Deus Church, Saligao, respectively.
Saligao MLA along with Saligao Parish Priest Fr Mathew, Sarpanch Lafira Remedios Gomes, Deputy Sarpanch Daya and other panchas visited the sites and inspected the ongoing beautification works of both the projects.
“GTDC has undertaken the beautification work of Mae De Deus Church surrounding at an estimated cost of Rs 2,72,64,95. This work is already started and expected to complete before the first Sunday of May, wherein the Feast of Mae de Deus will be celebrated in the coming year.”
“The WRD has undertaken the beautification work of Salmona spring at an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh which will include dedicated sitting area, toilet and changing room and illumination,” Salgaonkar added.
