Belgaum, Konkan reservoirs, rivers swell

BELGAUM, SEPT 1 Levels of most reservoirs and rivers in Belgaum and the neighbouring Konkan region have risen drastically in the past three days following incessant rainfall. The level of Koyna reservoir has shot up with the current availability of water reading at 95 tmc feet in the reservoir against its maximum of 105 tmc feet.

Levels of most reservoirs and rivers in Belgaum and the neighbouring Konkan region have risen drastically in the past three days following incessant rainfall.
The level of Koyna reservoir has shot up with the current availability of water reading at 95 tmc feet in the reservoir against its maximum of 105 tmc feet.
According to sources, Varna reservoir is short of 1 tmc feet to reach its maximum capacity of 34 tmc feet, while Dhom reservoir had 9.1 tmc feet against its maximum of 13.50 tmc feet, Kaner reservoir is having 9.98 tmc feet against 10.10 tmc feet.
The level of all these reservoirs of neighbouring Maharashtra is certain to touch the brim if the rainfall continues for a few more days.
