Margao: Six members of the ruling side of the Benaulim Village panchayat ousted the Deputy Sarpanch of Benaulim Joao Albuquerque.
They had filed a no-confidence motion against him earlier. This group of panchs who are supported by the local MLA Churchill Alemao won the motion on Tuesday with 6 votes against 5.
It may be recalled that six panchas had tabled a no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Ezlina Fernandes on November 5.
The Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao also spoke about how the members of opposition at the Benaulim panchayat have supported the ruling group in removing the Deputy Sarpanch.
