MARGAO: Residents of Benaulim have complained of discrepancies in the electoral roll and the delimitation of the panchayats.
Residents of ward 5 & 6 in Benaulim have alleged that the over 30 houses of ward 5 have been shifted to Ward 6 in the recent delimitation but are still reflecting in the Ward 5 in the electoral roll.
The resident said that the election is a critical exercise to conduct and the authority shouldn’t do any mistakes on their side. The people met the Returning officer and told him about the situation. The RO agreed that it is an error and also told to refer to the Delimitation notification. The RO told that the Electoral roll is not notified yet and advised not to refer to it.
