Beneficiaries of State schemes demand their due

MARGAO: As the Goa assembly elections ended up in giving a majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), now frustrated beneficiaries of several government schemes, including Dayanand Social Security scheme are demanding to release the amount immediately.

Speaking to Herald many have urged the concerned departments to release the amount, as they are facing a tough time due to the inflation.

It is pertinent to note that thousands of beneficiaries of Dayanand Social Security scheme, besides Griha Aadhar scheme, and pension for widows have not received any amount for the last several months. These beneficiaries are eagerly waiting, and they keep on checking in the banks, if the amount is credited or not.

The objective of the Griha Aadhar scheme is to address the problem of spiraling prices and to provide support to the housewives/homemakers from middle, lower middle and poor section of the society, to maintain a reasonable standard of living for their families. However, no benefit for the last many months has resulted in tough times amongst the beneficiaries.

On the other hand there are several other new applicants who had applied for the benefit, but still no positive response from the concerned departments.
