PANJIM: The Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) on Sunday has stated that they are planning a movement across Goa that will educate and convince the parents about the advantages and benefits of allowing their children to study through their mother tongue before the new academic year starts.
Speaking to Herald, BBSM leader Uday Bhembre said, “BBSM is planning for such a movement before the fresh admission procedure starts for new academic year across Goa and probably next week all the BBSM members along with leaders is likely to convene a meeting to discuss about this movement”
“Our stand is clear that government should only give grants to regional language primary schools and not to English medium primary schools and BBSM is sure to start educating parents across Goa through a movement just before the admissions for the new academic year start. The planning of this movement got a bit delayed because of these recent Assembly elections but this movement is on the BBSM list,” Bhembre added.
“We are not saying to stop English language, if any parent wants his child to get education in foreign language is free to do so by paying their own fees and not from the government,” he said
Meanwhile, Bhembre has said that the BJP government has completely taken a U-turn on the MoI issue and BBSM will further intensify its agitation.
However, Bhembre has said that Maha Yuti consisting of MGP-GSM-SS will win a minimum of 22 seats and form the next government overthrowing the saffron outfit.
