Bengal native electrocuted to death at Candolim

MAPUSA: A West Bengal native was electrocuted to death while his assistant who had gone to save him got an electric shock at Candolim.

The deceased is identified as Kalipodo Roy (40) and the one who sustained electric shock is Rakesh Roy (25). Both are native of West Bengal.

According to the Calangute police, the incident occurred at around 9.30 am when the two labourers had climbed the terrace of a residential building to cover the water tank at Camotimvaddo, Candolim. 

The deceased moved on the side of the terrace and came in contact with a live electrical wire connected to a solar panel and got thrown away. Seeing this, his assistant rushed to his save him but suffered a shock. He was then immediately shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
