MAPUSA: Anjuna police arrested a West Bengal native for snatching the mobile of a tourist from Kerala.
According to Anjuna Police, Beneesha Chirayath (22), a student from Kerala, filed a complaint at Anjuna Police Station that on Tuesday at 11.30 pm, Bapi Shyamlal Barman (26), presently residing at Madel, Thivim and a native of West Bengal attempted to snatch a mobile phone worth Rs 13,000 from the hands of complainant’s friend namely Jose Silvin while they were using navigator on their phone near Acron Waterfront, Baga Arpora.
Accordingly, Anjuna police traced and arrested the accused. Police recovered two mobile phones from the accused. A case is booked under Sections 356, 379 and 511 of IPC.
