MARGAO: A family outing in Goa turned tragic when 29-year-old musician Clement S from Bengaluru drowned while swimming at Rajbagh-Tarir beach in Canacona on Thursday morning.
According to the Canacona police, Clement and his family, consisting of his father, mother, and sister, had driven to Goa on May 27 to visit various tourist spots. After spending time at Palolem beach and other locations, they arrived at Rajbagh beach.
The tragedy struck early on Thursday morning as the family was enjoying a swim in the sea. Clement was pulled underwater by a strong wave. His family members, who were also in the sea, immediately raised an alarm.
Life-savers responded quickly, pulling Clement out of the water and attempting to revive him. Despite their efforts, Clement remained unconscious and was rushed to the Canacona Health Centre (CHC). Unfortunately, doctors at the CHC declared him dead on arrival.
Clement’s body was sent to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) in Margao for a post-mortem examination, and then handed over to his family members.
Police have registered the incident as an unnatural death under Section 174 of the CrPC. PSI Anjali Gaunker is investigating the case.
