MARGAO: The Betalbatim panchayat has urged the authorities to keep it informed about any deeds or mutations done with respect to properties in the village and pointed out that very often these actions are undertaken without informing the affected parties. In a letter addressed to the Collector, Mamlatdar and Sub-Registrar, Sarpanch Constancio Miranda pointed out that one Maria Philomena Rato from the village complained about this matter to the panchayat.
The panchayat body at its meeting discussed this matter and resolved to inform all the authorities concerned about it. He said that most often the actual owner of the land is not even intimated about any application about transfer of the property to someone else or even partition or mutation.
Hence, he requested all the authorities to keep the panchayat informed about such applications so that the panchayat can intimate the person concerned who can then protect his or her interest.
