PONDA: After OHeraldo highlighted concerns regarding the construction of a safety wall near a nullah at Kirtinagar bypass, the Sarpanch of Bethora Panchayat, Madhu Khandeparkar, conducted an on-site inspection to assess the situation. Local residents had expressed apprehensions about the lack of new pipes or passages to manage water flow during the monsoon season.
Sarpanch Madhu Khandeparkar acknowledged the need for a solution and plans to meet with the senior engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) on Monday. He further assured that discussions will be held with the local MLA and the Minister of Water Resources, Subhash Shirodkar, to identify a viable solution.
While protective walls have been constructed along both sides of the drain near the bypass road, the absence of space for laying new pipelines has raised concerns among residents. Water logging during the rainy season has been a persistent issue, and locals have called for urgent attention from the PWD. Previous underground channels have compounded the problem.
A meeting with the senior engineer of the PWD is scheduled for Monday, and Minister Subhash Shirodkar is expected to inspect the site.
