PANJIM: The celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao week started from Friday with a State level function on International Girl Child Day at the main hall of Institute of Menezes Braganza, Panjim.
On October 9, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao oath taking ceremony will be conducted at Panchayat level by holding a special meeting. Further, signature campaign will be launched at Panchayat level at North Goa District by the Directorate of Panchayat.
On October 10, Prabhat phery will be taken by education department by involving school children to give strong message to save the girl child.
On October 11, a day to mark a celebration of girl child and felicitation of parents besides planting a tree in the name of girl child .
October 12, door-to-door campaign will be initiated by Anganwadi workers. On October 13, awareness programmes.
generation activities like Nukkad Natak and skits will be performed by children from education department at Kadamba bus stand Panjim and municipal market area.
