PONDA: Villagers in Betki-Borim took to the streets in protest against the construction of a road for a proposed ISKCON project on the Bethki Plateau. They expressed concerns that their wells would run dry and they would face water scarcity if the project was allowed on the hill. Demonstrating at the roadside of NH at Betki-Borim, the locals displayed placards rejecting the project and vowed to prevent the construction of the proposed road, fearing that it would involve cutting the hill.
They emphasized that the hill helped recharge their drinking water wells and also supported biodiversity, including leopards and wild boars.
The locals voiced their resistance to any project, temple, or church on the plateau if it meant sacrificing the hill they depend on.
