The famous seven-day Akhand Maha Bhajani Saptah of Shree Nagesh Maharudra Devasthan, Nageshi-Bandora, Ponda, commenced on Thursday.
“All the villagers of Bandora have been participating in the seven-day Akhand Mahabhajani Saptah, which has completed 57 years. It is a platform for people to come together and will continue,” said Transport Minister Sudin Dhavlikar.
According to the villagers, the Akhand Mahabhajani Saptah is aimed at unity and spreading peace. The annual ceremony is attended by people from all over the State.
During the seven days, villagers from Bandora participate in Bhajans, which will conclude next Thursday. A procession will be held, which will be followed by breaking of Dahi Handa in the premises of Shree Nagesh Maharudra Temple.
Villager said the Saptah was started by a villager with the sole intention to bring unity and peace in the locality.
