With four more confirmed cases of H1N1, the total number of positive cases has reached 53 with Salcete topping the list with 24 cases.
The report of the 22 throat swabs of suspected cases of H1N1 referred to National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi has been received and four have been confirmed for H1N1.
Of the 53 positives cases, 11 have been reported from Tiswadi and seven from Mormugao and a total of 11 from other talukas.
According to Health Department all the patients have received anti-viral treatment and have recovered and also the contacts have been given prophylactic treatment.
The Health Department has appealed to public to consult doctors in case of flu-like symptoms persist so that further medical attention is received.
Also those with flu-like symptoms should avoid going to office, educational institutions and crowded places until recovery. Home quarantine will prevent the transmission to others, advised Health Department.
