Bharitya Kisan Sangh appeals to farmers to make Kisan Credit Card

PONDA: The Bharitya Kisan Sangh, Goa Pradesh Secretary Shrirang Zamble on Tuesday urged the Goa Dairy farmers to make Kisan Credit Card for obtaining loans and other schemes of the Central government so that they can avail financial assistence to the tune of Rs 1.5 to 3 lakh from the banks. 

Addressing the media persons along with farmer Sanjeev Cuncolienkar, Zamble informed that in order to avail the scheme the farmers should obtain Kisan Credit Card before July 31.

He said, “Even Goa Dairy farmers who are not in possession of land but conducting dairy business from their cattle pounds can apply for the Kisan Credit Card with the bank submitting necessary documents.” 

Further, he mentioned that as per the scheme, just after submitting to the bank the details of their business turnover with respective dairy brands, the farmers can obtain the loans without providing any collateral  security.  

“The farmers faces financial difficulty in meeting expenses. If their problem is solved then only the economy of country would improve. There are around 8,000 dairy farmers in the State and they should take advantage of the scheme,” he added. 

Zamble said, “The scheme was started in 1998 by Central government and earlier its benefit was availed by the farmers with land possession but due to the efforts of Kisan Sang the scheme is extended to even dairy farmers with no land in possession. The progressive dairy farmers with good milk production should not deprive to expand their business and so the scheme is extended to them. They should submit the bank with account details of milk production supplied by them to the respective dairy brands.” 

He appealed to the Goa Dairy, SUMUL and other dairy brands to create awareness for making Kisan Credit Card among their milk supplying farmers before July 31, so that they can avail the benefit of the credit card.
