VALPOI: Around 50 Bhirondem villagers headed by Sarpanch Nitin Shivdekar led a morcha to Valpoi Electricity Department, on Wednesday, and confronted the Assistance Engineer for the power blackout in the village for the last ten days.
The villagers said that for the last ten days there was no power supply in their panchayat area, of which they repeatedly complained to the Electricity Department. However, since the power was not restored, they were force to lead a morcha to the department.
Assistance Engineer Saudagar Hussain informed the villagers that due to gusty winds since past many days, many trees crashed on electric poles in Bhirondem causing power disruption. “We are working to restore power to the village and it will take some time. We will restore the power supply in Bhirondem by Wednesday evening,” Hussain assured.
