Bhoma-Adcolna Panchayat building in a bad shape

PONDA: Constructed around 35 to 40 years ago, the Bhoma-Adcolna Village Panchayat building housing shops, electricity and health offices lies in a dilapidated state.

Concerned over the pathetic condition of the structure, the locals claimed that the walls have developed cracks, the slab plaster has peeled off at some places exposing the iron rods and rainwater seeps through the walls during monsoon.

The panchayat has four employees and a secretary, while on the ground floor there is a health office with three employees where patients also visit. Besides this, very often there is rush of locals at a fair price shop which also operates in the building.

Sarpanch Damodar Naik said, “The building is in a bad condition. The panchayat is making all efforts to construct a new building and until then there is a need to shift employees to a safe place.”
