Bicholim civil registration office raided

BICHOLIM: The Anti Corruption Bureau and the Vigilance Department on Tuesday raided the Civil Registration office in Bicholim, following a complaint of corruption.

BICHOLIM: The Anti Corruption Bureau and the Vigilance Department on Tuesday raided the Civil Registration office in Bicholim, following a complaint of corruption.
According to sources, the ACB acted on a complaint from Rajendra Deshpande. 
TheAnti Corruption Bureau and the Vigilance Department raided the Civil Registration office in the morning and checked all the documents.
According to an ACB officer, they had received a complaint stating that the employees of the Civil Registration office in Bicholim reportedly do not carry out their work directly, but have appointed another person who works for them. 
The employees refer the people to this man for documentation who in turn charges money and later hand it over to the office staff.
The ACB officers further informed that they did not book anyone in the matter of taking bribe, but it was reported that some of the documents were not property maintained. 
The raid was carried out under the guidance of ACB DySP Bosset Silva.
Meanwhile, it is informed that ACB is likely to undertake surprise checks in some other departments in Bicholim.
