BICHOLIM: Bicholim Deputy Collector Deepak Vaigankar has cautioned the locals and tourists not to venture into water at Harvalem Waterfall, Sanquelim-Bicholim.
It may be recalled that last year, two youth had drowned here and the fire service personnel had to retrieve their bodies.
“The Harvalem Waterfall is deep and the people don’t come to know its depth. This is the reason that the tourists who try to swim in here gets drowned,” Vaigankar stated.
In view of this, Deputy Collector Vaigankar has urged the people not to go in the water and also not to descend the steps near the water as the water flow may be strong.
“We have deputed police personnel at the site to monitor the situation. Besides this, we will also put up a warning notice at the entry point of the waterfall,” Vaigankar said.
