A shocking murder case has gripped Bicholim, Goa, after a daily-wage labourer was allegedly smothered to death following a violent quarrel. Police Sub-Inspector Shri Vikesh Venkatesh Hadfadkar, 32, from Bicholim Police Station, registered the complaint detailing the gruesome incident.
The crime unfolded between 4:30 PM on December 25, 2025, and 7:00 AM on December 26 at Churchwada, Bicholim. Accused Ramesh, son of Mangesh Teli, 48, from Lakherem, Bordem, Bicholim, reportedly quarrelled with victim Laxmi, wife of Bhikaji Shirodkar, 51. Originally from Gaonkarwada, Honda, Sattari, Goa, but residing in Talewadi, Matne, Dodamarg, Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, Laxmi worked as a labourer in Bicholim Market.

Ramesh allegedly slapped her face and assaulted her with an LED tubelight, causing injuries, before smothering her inside a pickup truck parked outside a shop in Bicholim Market.
Ramesh was arrested on December 27 at 5:35 PM. The case falls under Section 103 of BNS, 2023, for murder; probe ongoing.
