BICHOLIM: A 70-year-old woman from Kasarwada in Maulingem, Bicholim succumbed to burn injuries at Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital, Bambolim on Thursday.
Bicholim police said that Rukmini Vinayak Sawal had set herself on fire after pouring kerosene over her, early morning during of Thursday. This was noticed by her daughter-in-law who immediately raised an alarm for help from family members and neighbours. After putting out the fire, Rukmini was rushed to GMC with 85% burn injuries, where she succumbed late evening on Thursday. After the post mortem, her body was handed over to the family members for final rites on Friday
