MAPUSA: Unknown persons made an unsucessful attempt to rob an optical shop in Mapusa.
The incident occured on Friday night when some unknown persons broke open the ceiling of Dangui Optical located at Mapusa market.
When the owner opened his shop in the morning he was shocked to see all the wares scattered around and he immediately called the police.
It may be recalled that a few days back, a group of around 9 robbers had made an attempt to rob two bungalows in Sapana Garden Peddem, Mapusa.
After these incidents the Mapusa Merchant Association has alleged that the police have failed in their duty. Mapusa police have now began regular patrolling of the area.
